This contemporary office building is part of Fortitude Valley’s ‘Urban Renewal’ precinct, the largest office market outside the Brisbane CBD. HQ North is located on Wickham Street, a major thoroughfare connecting the Brisbane CBD to the northern suburbs and the airport.

Renascent were engaged by Cromwell Property Group to extend and refurbish the forecourt and lobby of North HQ while also fitting out a new café in the lobby space.

A technically challenging project, the works included a full strip out of the existing ground floor finishes to the lobby, before its transformation into a modern, high-end space.

The refurbishment, totalling 810sqm of works, included a fresh structural entrance awning, 110sqm expansion in lobby space, as well as the addition of a 60 sqm green wall, all while increasing natural light. The cafe area will be constructed with increased, COVID-safe seating capacity. Through careful planning of noise-heavy works, Cafe Con Leche, the existing cafe in the lobby, was able to remain open throughout.

The project also featured strict sustainability guidelines. The building maintains a 6-Star Green Star v2 Office Design rating, the highest possible rating by the Green Building Council of Australia, as well as a 5.5-Star NABERS Energy rating.
