At Renascent, construction has always been about more than delivering spaces, it’s about building opportunities, connections, and meaningful change for communities.
That’s why we’re proud to be partnering with HoMie on the delivery of their brand-new 180m² flagship store at Melbourne’s Emporium, a project we’re undertaking pro bono.
HoMie is a streetwear label, social enterprise and registered charity that directs 100% of profits towards supporting young people affected by homelessness. Their mission is to help young people gain the skills and experiences they need to be work-ready and better prepared for the future. This flagship store will not only expand HoMie’s retail presence but also create up to 48 retail jobs every year, providing meaningful employment and training opportunities for young people who need them most.
For HoMie CEO Steph Say, the collaboration represents a powerful alignment of values: “Partnering with Renascent has taken our new Emporium store concept from dream to reality. With their support, we’re going to create an incredibly special, unique and aspirational space for our whole community. Importantly, we’ll be able to employ up to 48 young people affected by homelessness in this store every year, laying the foundations for meaningful, life-changing employment programs for those who need it most.”
The project has also been a milestone for Renascent itself. As our Project Director, Haran Janarthanan shares: “We’ve always wanted to do something that’s pro bono, that’s tangible, and we feel it stands for everything Renascent stands for as well.”
This project has been supported not only by our delivery team but also through our Community Leave policy, which enables Renascent employees to volunteer their time and skills for initiatives that make a difference. It’s one of the many ways we ensure giving back extends beyond individual projects and is embedded in how we work.
Delivering this project pro bono reflects Renascent’s deep commitment to giving back. For us, it’s not only about donating skills and resources, but about aligning our work with purpose and amplifying the impact of organisations like HoMie that are making a real difference. As the store nears completion, we look forward to seeing the impact this space will create, from the young people gaining confidence in their first retail roles to the community members who walk through the doors and feel part of something bigger.
