Senior Project Manager

Duties & Responsibilities:

Working closely with the General Manager, your duties include but are not limited to:

  • Managing projects from initial brief through to handover up to $10M
  • Inputting and updating cost control systems, budgets, forecast costs etc
  • Developing, maintaining and  evaluating project programmes
  • Evaluating and implementing processes, margin and quality improvements wherever possible
  • Negotiating with Trades and delivering project profitability
  • Ensuring onsite safety in accordance with compliance regulations
  • Management of staff and subcontractors
  • Working to Australian standards and contract law
  • Managing and developing a strong relationship with all stakeholders

 

To be successful, you will need:

  • Formal qualifications in Building, Construction or Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in  the commercial fit-out and refurbishment sector
  • In-depth understanding of the design and construction process 
  • Solid experience using MS Project, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to demonstrate strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Sound knowledge of project management techniques including performance assessment, project evaluation and review techniques, value management and quality assurance, procurement methodologies, project organisation and communication
  • Experience with providing leadership to the project team, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and the successful delivery of project milestones.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and organisation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills with the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement
