CEO Institute Fitout, Perth WA
This project entailed the conversion of the Quest East Perth top floor apartments into an exclusive networking, meeting and events space. Located on the 18th floor, the works consisted of demolishing two existing hotel suites and steel structures on the open deck. Thereafter we commenced with a high-end fitout of a bar and conference facility, including a dining and entertainment area, meeting room, ablution facilities and an open-air bar.
One of the main challenges was construction on the 18th floor of an occupied building. Access to the site was the major issue, having only the use of a single passenger lift. This was managed by means of close coordination with the hotel management and enforcing strict general and noisy works timings. The largest challenge was the construction of a 4 metre high steel frame, holding the automated louvres. This external structure was hoisted into place by means of 300 ton mobile cranes. To maintain a high level of safety, a temporary scaffold structure was constructed, allowing staff to safely work close to the edge of the 18th floor drop.
